We have live Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches.

When Explorit closed end of May 2025, we adopted 3 of the 4 reptiles that were there.

We have Tiger, a male Australian Northern Blue-Tongued Skink, who turned 25 years old in December 2025.

We adopted Lizzie & Felix, sister & brother, CA Kingsnakes, who are approximately 15 years old in 2025.

 

UPDATE ON LIZZIE:

Sadly on June 25th, 2026 we had to say goodbye to our beloved Lizzie.

At approximately 15 years old, she was at the top of the expected wild lifespan of 10-15 years, though they can live up to early 20s in captivity. 

She had gone off food for several weeks, which is not uncommon for CA Kingsnakes as they can go 2-3 months without food. She had dropped weight & was showing signs of other issues so we got her a vet appointment. Unfortunately, she was very sick beyond anything that antibiotics could cure. Among neurological issues, she had an dangerously low red blood cell count, fluids in her belly & multiple soft tissue growths pushing against her organs. We are waiting for the results of the necropsy to determine if she had cancer.

We worked with her for 4 years & had her home with us for a year. She was a wonderful animal ambassador who educated 100s of students & families. With her very calm demeanor, she was great with small groups or large crowds. We went to several events to educate about her species over the 5 years. She will be deeply missed.
